Welcome to the Kingdom Elements AMDC Driver Team

We are excited to welcome you to the Kingdom Elements Adult Medical Day Care (AMDC) team!

As a member of our dedicated transportation staff, you play an essential role in the daily experience, safety, and well-being of our participants. Our drivers are often the first and last Kingdom Elements team members participants and families encounter each day. Your professionalism, compassion, patience, and commitment to safety are an important reflection of our organization.

Please watch the training video above to begin your virtual driver orientation and review the following Driver Code of Conduct carefully.

Kingdom Elements AMDC Core Ethical Principles for Drivers

Safety First

The safety of our participants, staff, pedestrians, and other motorists is always the highest priority.

Drivers are expected to:

  • Obey all traffic laws, speed limits, and transportation regulations.

  • Drive defensively and remain alert at all times.

  • Avoid distracted driving, including the use of personal mobile devices while operating a vehicle.

  • Ensure all participants are safely entering, exiting, and seated in the vehicle.

  • Properly secure wheelchairs, mobility devices, seat belts, and other safety equipment when applicable.

  • Immediately report vehicle concerns, safety hazards, accidents, injuries, or incidents to management.

  • Follow all Kingdom Elements AMDC transportation procedures and emergency protocols.

Sobriety and Alertness

Drivers must report to work physically and mentally prepared to safely perform their duties.

Drivers must:

  • Never operate a Kingdom Elements AMDC vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any substance that may impair their ability to drive safely.

  • Notify management if prescribed medication may affect their ability to safely operate a vehicle.

  • Manage fatigue and obtain adequate rest before reporting for duty.

  • Never operate a vehicle when overly tired, ill, or otherwise unable to safely perform transportation responsibilities.

Courtesy, Respect, and Compassion

Kingdom Elements AMDC is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, and compassionate environment for every participant.

Drivers are expected to:

  • Treat all participants, families, coworkers, and members of the public with dignity and respect.

  • Demonstrate patience and understanding when assisting individuals with different physical, emotional, or communication needs.

  • Avoid aggressive driving, road rage, inappropriate gestures, or confrontational behavior.

  • Respect participants' personal space, independence, and individual preferences whenever possible.

  • Provide assistance in accordance with Kingdom Elements AMDC policies and assigned job responsibilities.

Professional Accountability

Drivers are responsible for performing their duties professionally and in accordance with Kingdom Elements AMDC policies and procedures.

Drivers must:

  • Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled assignments.

  • Follow assigned transportation routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by management.

  • Complete required transportation logs, inspections, and documentation accurately.

  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, injuries, participant concerns, vehicle damage, mechanical issues, or other unusual circumstances.

  • Cooperate fully with management during incident investigations or reviews.

  • Maintain honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all work-related matters.

Vehicle Care and Daily Inspection

At the beginning of each workday, and during any vehicle handoff, drivers are responsible for ensuring that assigned vehicles are clean, safe, and ready for transportation services.

Vehicles should be:

  • Clean and free of trash, personal belongings, newspapers, or other unnecessary items.

  • Vacuumed and maintained in a neat and professional condition.

  • Fueled appropriately and ready for scheduled transportation.

  • Equipped with required safety equipment.

Verbal Communication

Our participants have different preferences and needs when it comes to communication.

Some participants may enjoy conversation with their driver, while others may prefer a quiet and private transportation experience. Drivers must always respect the participant's preferences.

At all times, drivers are expected to maintain integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Drivers should:

  • Allow participants to guide the level of conversation whenever appropriate.

  • Respect participants who prefer not to engage in conversation.

  • Avoid continuing conversation when a participant indicates that they do not wish to talk.

  • Speak respectfully and professionally at all times.

  • Listen with patience and compassion.

Drivers must not engage participants in inappropriate discussions, including:

  • Political debates or controversial subjects.

  • Religious debates or attempts to influence a participant's beliefs.

  • Sexual conversations, comments, jokes, or suggestions.

  • Discussions regarding other participants or confidential organizational information.

  • Gossip or inappropriate discussions about employees, families, or participants.

Drivers must maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.

Drivers shall not involve themselves in a participant's personal affairs, including matters related to relationships, finances, family conflicts, personal habits, or other private matters that are unrelated to transportation services.

The exchange, sale, solicitation, or acceptance of personal goods, services, money, favors, or other inappropriate benefits between drivers and participants is prohibited unless specifically authorized by Kingdom Elements AMDC management.

Under no circumstances should a driver make comments that could be interpreted as inappropriate, suggestive, discriminatory, harassing, or sexual in nature.

A guiding principle for communication is: Allow the participant to take the lead in conversation while always maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Non-Verbal Communication

Communication is not limited to spoken words. Body language, facial expressions, posture, tone of voice, and other non-verbal behaviors can significantly affect a participant's experience.
